Winds of the North

Winds of the north give freedom
Icily ice of the earth’s blossom
Thru wings of the slivery sky
As my frost roses melt and die

Dreams like the river flowing
On thru the time of new days
Like every breath is there going
On to the early dewdrops lays

Comfort my heart wilderness
Where my song is yearning
Each your breeze is awareness
In desires of love burning

Winds of the north give freedom
Icily ice of the earth’s blossom
In coming hours of dark glow
Those that now thru my land go

Love is a never ending flame
Thru all our hours of living
Like water doesn’t stay the same
Always new suggestions giving

Listen to the freedom singing
Lullabies of the North Country
Thru steps of tundra bringing
Forever its dance of carefree

Winds of the north give freedom
Icily ice of the earth’s blossom
Wintry wintry breezy blow
On my footsteps in the snow

Winds of the north give freedom
Icily ice of the earth’s blossom
Thru the night that’s drifting by
As the day again opens high
